Bad Wildbad is a German spa town nestled in the Black Forest of Baden-Württemberg. We traveled there on a whim Sunday, March 26. There’s a small mountain called the Sommerberg accessible from the below town that leads to a few great attractions for those who love the outdoors.
For just a few Euros, you can walk along the tree tops. There’s an elevated walkway dozens of meters above the forest floor that goes on for about a half mile. You get a birds’ eye view of, well, birds… and trees, squirrels, or whatever other plants and animals you can spot scurrying through the canopy. At the end of the walkway is a tower that with a pathway that spirals all the way to the top. Despite my encouragement, Ellen declined to slide to the bottom of the tower, preferring a quiet walk to the bottom.
